Christmas Party, The
/kris-muss par-tee, thuh/
proper noun. annual knees-up

The one night of the year when employees get to tell their boss exactly how they feel as they strut their stuff on the dancefloor. There's nothing quite like scrolling through jobs.ie while nursing the hangover from hell.

Kunak McGann grew up in Drogheda back in the days when electronic tablets were unheard of (she can still remember the excitement when the family got a ZX Spectrum – Luna Crabs, anyone?) and playing out on the street was the most fun kids could imagine. Eventually, she had to grow up and get a proper job. Now she works in publishing and lives in Kildare with her husband, two lively sons and one chilled-out dog.

It’s little in size, but it’s full in terms of content … lovely

Christmas wouldn’t have been Christmas without one of these hardback annuals wedged in your stocking. And not forgetting the Late Late Toy Show and the obligatory big fry on Christmas morning washed down with a Baileys
