Moore, Christy

Christopher Andrew "Christy" Moore (born 7 May 1945) is an Irish folk singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is well known as one of the founding members of both Planxty and Moving Hearts. His first album, Paddy on the Road (a minor release of 500, although made available again on CD through his website and at gigs in 2010) was recorded with Dominic Behan (brother of Brendan) in 1969. In 2007, he was named as Ireland's greatest living musician in RTÉ's People of the Year Awards.

Moore, Katherine

KATHERINE MOORE has worked as an administrator for the Irish Writers’ Centre for seven years. She has worked on previous anthologies, including Out to Lunch and the Whoseday Book published in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation.

Morrissy, Mary

Mary Morrissy is the author of three novels, Mother of Pearl, The Pretender and The Rising of Bella Casey, and a collection of stories, A Lazy Eye. Her second collection of stories, Prosperity Drive, is forthcoming in 2016.

Mother of Pearl, her first novel, was shortlisted for the Whitbread Award (now Costa) and The Pretender and The Rising of Bella Casey were both nominated for the Dublin Impac International Literary Award.

Her short fiction has been anthologised widely, most recently in Dubliners 100 and All Over Ireland: New Irish Short Stories.  She has won a Hennessy Award and been awarded the prestigious US Lannan Award which honours writers whose work “is of exceptional quality”.

She has taught creative writing in the US and Ireland since 2000 and currently leads the fiction component on the MA in Creative Writing at UCC. She was appointed a member of Aosdana in 2015.

Mulryan, Peter

Peter Mulryan became interested in the world of food and drink over a decade ago while filming in France and went on to make numerous programmes about cooking and, of course, alcohol. After visiting just about every distillery in Scotland and Ireland, Peter married his Scottish bride on the Isle of Skye last year. They now have a baby son Tadhg and live in Cork where he is a senior producer with RTÉ Television.

Peter is a director of the Blackwater Distillery in Waterford, one of the growing number of independent whiskey distilleries throughout Ireland.
